PRISM Lamp
The PRISM lamp breaks light the way a prism does.
Light shines out through the geometric facets of the cylindrical shade in a warm glow with sparkling accents. During the day, the open, industrial form is a stylish object in itself, and in the evening the soft light gives your corner a warm, intimate feel. Its compact, slender shape sits beautifully on your nightstand or desk, on a narrow shelf, or as a mood-setter in the living room.
I make and assemble each PRISM lamp to order in my studio in Zeewolde. I build the parts layer by layer from recycled plastic, made from food packaging from the Benelux. The process takes around fifteen hours and gives each lamp its own subtle details you can see and feel. So you knowingly choose circular design from the Netherlands, made to last for years.
THE CRAFT
Hundreds of diamonds,
one light source.
Each shade is built up layer by layer into hundreds of small facets that together form the diamond structure. I then make the frame and fix it in place by clicking everything together.
I work without stock, so your lamp is only made once you've ordered. Shipping follows within a week.
It started with light.
I wanted light to do something,
not just switch on.
PRISM grew out of a fascination with modular industrial lamps and the way light refracts. For the frame, I drew on laser-cut designs that press together into one piece. It gives the whole thing an open, modular feel that still reads as clean and precise. The shade plays the opposite role. Where the frame is all straight lines, its faceted surface catches the light and scatters it into hundreds of small accents.
