NOVA: A refined design object for the modern interior enthusiast.

With her striking appearance, NOVA instantly brings a cozy atmosphere to your interior. Her clean lines and soft curves create an elegant look with a playful twist. The flowing ridges create a beautiful play of shadows for a lively dynamic. Place her on your sideboard, windowsill, or as an eye-catcher on your coffee table — with NOVA you'll create a stylish setting in any space in no time.

NOVA is 3D printed especially for you in our studio in Flevoland. Using recycled bioplastic from the Benelux, we carefully build the vase layer by layer. This creates a fine layered texture that you can see and feel, while giving packaging plastic a second life as a beautiful design object. Whether you choose a minimalist look or a combination with dried flowers — NOVA perfectly completes your interior.

  • Striking design: The clean lines and soft curves give your interior a refined touch with a playful edge.
  • Flexible styling: From elegant solo piece to eye-catcher with dried flowers, create your atmospheric setting in an instant.
  • Made just for you: Each vase is made to order in our studio in Flevoland, ensuring you receive a unique piece.
  • Sustainable decorating: From recycled fruit packaging to a new vase, with NOVA you choose a circular product with Dutch roots.
  • Stylish gift: Treat yourself, or another design enthusiast, to a unique and responsible present.

Everything you need to know

Here you'll find all the important information about my 3D printed vases.

Topics

Use & functionality

Can I use this 3D printed vase with water?

No, this 3D-printed vase is not suitable for water.

Due to the layered construction, there is a chance that minuscule openings may form during printing. This can cause water to leak. Therefore, use it only for dried or silk bouquets.

Are you looking for a vase for fresh flowers? Then choose a model with a glass insert. This way, you can combine the unique design with the functionality for fresh flowers!

How sturdy is a 3D printed vase?

My vases are surprisingly strong!

They do not break or shatter easily if they fall over, making them safe to use around children or pets. Even though the wall of the vase is thinner than ceramic or glass, they are robust and long-lasting.

Why is a 3D printed vase so light?

Due to the nature of the plastic material, my vases are lighter than ceramic or glass. This makes them easy to lift or move and also less fragile if they fall.

However, with heavy silk bouquets, this can sometimes present challenges. For these types of bouquets, I recommend choosing a vase with a wider base, or possibly weighing the vase down.

Can I use a 3D printed vase outdoors?

I recommend using the vases indoors.

Although rPLA is robust, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and weather conditions can lead to discoloration and eventual brittleness.

If you want to place the vase on a covered terrace or balcony, that is usually not a problem. Just avoid direct exposure to the sun.

Materials

What material are the vases made from?

I make all the vases from recycled PLA (rPLA) sourced from post-industrial plastic packaging waste. This includes items like food containers, bottles, and other plastic packaging that would otherwise be destroyed.

I use recycled materials based on PLA because they are strong, plant-based, and give each object a high-quality finish. Want to know more? Read more about the materials I use here.

Advantages of recycled PLA (Polylactic Acid)

Recycled PLA (rPLA) offers several advantages over new material.

  • Reduces landfill waste by giving plastic waste a new life. This prevents environmental pollution.
  • Saves primary raw materials by reducing the need for new biomass sources like corn starch or sugarcane. This means less use of agricultural land, fresh water, and fertilizers.
  • Enables direct reuse of high-quality post-industrial waste streams. This further reduces their environmental impact.
  • Maintains high quality, especially from post-industrial waste streams. Research shows recycled PLA can match virgin material quality when properly integrated into synthesis processes.
  • Supports circular principles by reusing materials and extending plastic lifespans. This makes it the most environmentally friendly end-of-life option for PLA.

I want to be transparent as possible about the materials I use. So, all supporting sources for these claims can be found here. If you have any questions, or suggestions, please contact me.

Where does the recycled material come from?

I use post-industrial plastic waste from the Benelux and the EU. This is essentially factory residue that would otherwise be thrown away.

Local recycling companies process this waste into granulate. Then, my local partner ColorFabb converts this into high-quality 3D printing filament.

Everything happens regionally: local waste, local processing, and local printing in my studio.

Customization

Can I order a vase in a custom color?

If you have a specific preference, feel free to get in touch to discuss the possibilities.

I might have something similar in stock, or I can order it for an additional fee. I always do this in consultation.

Is it possible to have a vase custom-made?

Yes, within certain limits! I can scale existing designs up to a maximum height of 60 cm.

Please be aware that larger sizes take significantly longer to print and use more material, which will be reflected in the price.

Please note: Custom orders cannot be returned.
